Hello guys! Been busy for past one week after came back from holidays/courses....
Done 2 calls, escorted one patient, PK was busy like hell and only today i get to finish the patient earlier at 4.50pm....
Wanted to update my blog long ago but i've no time to spare cause of the bloody morbidity review and patient's diabetes education presentation i need to do...anyway...i'd finished those and now time for my blog .....
Let me recall what kind of course i attended last last week in kuching..
-Kuching Emergency Medicine course 2012- 24-26/4/12- organized by 8 Australian ER consultants and SGH ER department....
Had lots of fun in learning stuff we'd never known before...
Lots of hands on and practical stuff ...Such as...
Chicken drumstick for intraosseous line practice...
Goat's ribcage for chest tube insertion practice- Open method insertion and no more trochar needed
The ER consultant, Dr Tony, and the MA trying to insert the Chest tube into the 'patient's ribcage...
Ultrasound guided line setting with Dr. Truc, ER consultant, one of the good-looking ones, but too bad cause he's taken..haha...ok, back to the IV line, so, if you cant find even a damn vessel for your IV, that's when US comes in...
Goat's trachea for cricothyroidotomy....very rare procedure but still, we've to know how to do it, in case one day, we really need it during emergency... and i hope it wont happen to me cause you wont like the feeling cutting someone's throat open....ewww.....
THe Australian Visitors were very kind...At the end of the course, they gave everyone of us 3 cervical collars and one pelvic band added with small kangaroo pin! Of course it belongs to the ER department of our working hospitals but except for the little kangaroo pin.....And those 2 thick ER books were given to the 5 busiest hospitals among all the district hospitals, and Kapit Hospital is one of those...
Thanks to them very much for this ER course....for your information, this was their 2nd time organizing the course....and they going to come again next year...Hope I can still go for it next year!
OH ya!...not to forget my family project...it's my mum's sunday school project and she needed younger brains' creativity, so my big brother and I did what we've to do, and final touched by mum and small brother......
Brother left to Bintulu before he get to see the full-completed project...so here it's!
By the way, i built the church, and some of the cars..er..actually only 2 cars......
Brother designed all the cars and built most of it ..
Mum added the blue sky and cloud on top of church and she planted the trees, grasses and threw in some stones and put in those little kids...
Small brother finished it off with the bible phrase....
Take a look on other ppl' project...
Lastly...
The day before i left for district UK ....
Had fun with nephew, gonna miss him later on..haha.....
Spot the difference between 3 photos below... haha...that little kid was trying to give the best-friendliest smile..hahahaha..funny!
Tried to teach him how to show 'yea' sign but he gave me a 'three' sign....maybe he wanna be different or maybe his fingers are just too stubborn to control.....
Tried to tickle him so he can laugh for the photo...but failed..
Getting angry after being forced to take so many photos..haha..
On 2nd day of holidays....
On the 10th day of holidays...and ya...i chopped off my long hair.....sick of it already and i'm too lazy to take care of it anymore....
Okay..that's all for my holidays update.....
Next post will be up soon...maybe tomorrow if i finish off early....
Got to sleep early or else, my pimples will pop up again like nobody business...sien...my nurses are already teasing me about it, said am i getting chicken pox, and even my family medicine specialist was caring enough to ask me if i'm having chicken pox!! What's their problems now?? hahaha...sien...
maybe it's the hormone thing or it's the foods ...
I've been quite vegetarian since i'm bck to UK....
hope my 'chicken pox' getting better....
NIghts all!!
