Journey to KK Asap..

21/3/12, 9.00am.... Waiting for the express to Belaga-Bakong


In the boat....


After 5 hours of express, reached Belaga at 2.30pm...
Thought the express will continue to Bakong, cause the initial plan was to reach at Bakong and then the KK Asap staff will come and fetch me up from Bakong...
But because the river stream wasn't good, so they cant go up to Bakong...


Thus, here I was..... stuck in Belaga..


Called up KK Asap Senior MA to pick me up at Belaga, but they need 3 hours to get down to Belaga...so in the mean time, KK Belaga staff will bring me to KK Belaga for a visit...

This's the MCH (mother and child health clinic) MO room...my temporary rest room..

Had some tea-break with the staff there before i departed to Belaga...that will be my that day's dinner.....
5pm, the transport from KK Asap had arrived...


The driver and the senior had some gastro-resus also before they left for KK Asap..
Heard from some staff that the road to KK Asap wont be good, and true enough, it's really bumpy......thank goodness i dont have car-sickness....




My sleep-room for 2 nights...




22.03.12 ...7.30am...outside the KK Asap..




THe MO room....




The Scan machine..... not well maintained....the roller ball will stuck on and off...the freeze button also always got mood-swing...sigh..got to ask the PKB Kapit to come and service that machine...


First day of MO clinic was an antenatal clinic....not many patients though, cause they thought there wont be MO coming so they didnt put many appointment for MO...

BUt I was given an Ectopic pregnancy case....damn....
Early in the morning at 10.30am, MA alerted me with young Penan woman came in with 4 days abdominal discomfort with pale looking and syncope attack..with lowish BP 90/60 and HR 110....
After lab investigation result came out, UPT positive, HB 6....
TAS uterus empty...FF +++++ with blood clots...
No blood available for patient, the only i can provide is fluid + colloid + oxygen....and to Hosp Bintulu ASAP which will need 3 hours to reach there....
THat patient was really tough, which i thought she might not make it to Hosp Btl but she can still survive for 4 days and able to reach at Hosp Btl with HB 3 on arrival, and operation done, left fimbrae end ectopic + 3L blood loss.....
Anyway, thank goodness, patient survive...and I still able to finish the patient early at around 4 pm......nothing to do..so i went around and took some more photos....

didnt really bath well for 2 days..Thank goodness only 2 days...

23.3.12...Last day in KK Asap...yeah~ cant wait to go home and get a good bath and miss my internet...
Had a visit to pharmacy ..and saw this...expired medication in process of discarding..




went to visit SN's barrack....that's her...assisted me for 2 days....
She's been working here for 2 years already, told me quite a lot of her experience working at this ulu clinic with mostly the Penan patients....
Honestly, after all these stories...i'm grateful that i was posted to Kapit...


Here're her adopted wild cats...total 16 cats..but not all came out during that lunch time...this is what she does during her free time..haha..


The Penan house....those Penan pregnant women awaiting labor will stay in that house for free, with 3 free meals provided....not only for pregnant women but also for others like awaiting transport to Hosp Btl and etc....

FInished my work at 4 pm, decided to go back to Kapit using Bintulu-Sibu route....
4.30pm , departed from KK Asap with 3 patients down to Btl hospital for admission..
Along the way to Bintulu..the Borneo jungle...

Lousy route to Bintulu...but at least not as bumpy as the Belaga-KK Asap route...but still.....it's the only route to Bintulu Hosp...at least the government can spend some money on it..


After 3 hours ride, reach Bintulu Hosp at 7.30pm
Had dinner with 2 brothers in bintulu..
this's one of our dishes.... eight treasure pork leg "八宝猪脚"
Seriously, not nice...regretted ordering it... no more 2nd time...


That's all for 2 clinic days in KK Asap
Taking 6.45am Bus to Sibu later and after that express to Kapit...
Cant wait to get back to my internet!!
And i need to see how did that babi housemate break into the house AGAIN!!!!!
WHy? thanks to his little forgetful brain, left the house without his key AGAIN!!!
He did that 4 months ago, when i was back in kuching...and he broke into the house because of that...
Now he did it again! after i left Kapit for just a few days!!!
Argh!!! Somemore called me this morning to ask me when will i be back...thought he can wait until i back to kapit today....how la i reach kapit so fast........
Sigh...i think he need to keep one extra key outside the house la...
Keep on breaking the house is not a solution....aih...
