Day 1- 3 in UK ......

Day 1 (18/10/11) - the day had finally come after much delayed ....
Flight to Sibu at 6.10 am ... 35 minutes


Then express boat to UK.. 2 hours and 15 minutes....

After 1 hour...all you can see is jungle.......


On arrival at Kapit port wharf.... got a sms from the Senior, saying that he will not be around for today, cause he has to go to Sibu for something...
First question: Ada taxi kah? Answer: Tak de taxi kat sini, ada van la...
Second question: Mana hospital Kapit? Answer: Oh, dekat saja, jalan pergi sana, nampak satu kolam besar, kat sana saja....
okay, then we just walk and walk, then asked around again and again, finally, after 10 minutes walk, here it is...Kapit Hospital...


Continue walking, saw one Matron with a bunch of nurses just came out from seminar room.....
Us: Erm...we are the new dr from SGH..
Matron: Oh....whoa, kamu orang jalan kaki bawa bag bag besar ini?
Us: Ya, they said hospital is very near, so we just walk from the port wharf...
Matron: Kesian.....ikut saya....

Followed her to Admin office to settle some admin paper work...
After settle some part of it, we were wondering where are we going to stay here?
I thought i will be staying with a sister, that's the plan in the beginning before i came here...then matron said, the sister has family who will come once in 2 weeks, so it's a bit inconvenient for me and for her...
But there's an empty quarter here (the only empty one) but then it's not ready for stay yet...cause she heard from the rumors that we will be coming in November, thats why she didnt prepare early...
For my friend law, he will be staying in the other quarter with others male officer..

Then she show us the quarter, a whole quarter for myself only...

Thats my quarter, up at the hill there....only the left side is ours...the right half is belong to a nurse and her family....
There's a car, belongs to the neighbor..


The rubbish from the house after cleaning previously...


Upon entering....empty ground floor....


Turn left....there's a staircase going up..


Go up, then up again at the right side...the living room..


Then turn right, there's a small passage way to 2 rooms...


To the left side...it's a small room..


There's a big old cupboard at the corner of the room..


Then the other room, looks bigger from the previous one..


Now go to left side of the stair case....


A small bathroom and toilet at the left side...




The kitchen..


That's everything for my quarter....quarter looks large for a person, so i asked my friend to stay in with me, so that we can share for everything thats needed..

There's another quarter opposite ours..its occupied..


After the 'tour', our feeling is same as the feel when we first arrive at Kursk, and it's even worse than kursk... =(

Then sister brought me to her house, to stay for tonight only, with the hope that the quarter will be ready tomorrow.... My friend will be staying at surgical ward isolation ward...

Now, the surgical ward, first ward we visited...because my friend staying here for tonight...

After the dinner, we had a walk round the kapit town, finished in 2 hours time...
Very small town....

Then walk back to sister's quarter, slept at 9.30pm, cause there's nothing to do here.... - The end of Day 1 -

Day 2- woke up at 7.30am, sister prepared a cereal drink for me, then met with my friend at the admin office, to settle the unsettle admin work, to get the chop done, then orientation with pathology department, x-ray department, pharmacy, and etc..

Also have to reconnect back the electricity and the water supply for our new quarter, at sesco and JKR with the help of driver......
The most important thing, the streamyx....TM point is very near to hospital, so the first thing we did before sesco and JKR was to apply the streamyx...
The TM point officer said he has to survey our area first before he can install the streamyx for us....that will be done by tomorrow....

By evening, the matron informed us that the quarter was ready for us already, well, she kept her promise though that it will be finished by today...

Here's the 'after' result...

I took the smaller room cause it's easier to clean a smaller room...
And also i realized my room is a bit cooler in the afternoon compared to the other room...Kapit's afternoon is so damn hot but it's really cool at night...

Things i bought today (Day 2)


Day 3- woke up a bit later at 8 am....
Wanted to go to admin to settle my claim, but the admin officer wasnt there, guess where he MIA at 9am? He went to 'minum' with some chief.. WTH?????!!
We went to see him yesterday at 8am, he's on his way ...
Today, 9 am, 'minum'.... *speechless*

So we decided to go out to the town again to buy our stuff...
On the way out, we stopped by at TM point again, to bug them again, cause my friend and i both want the streamyx to be installed real fast because we both cant live without internet....They said they will get it As soon as possible,and so, i asked who's the guy will come to survey, and his phone number. I called him up myself, and he said he will come in the evening....ok...lets see if he comes or not..

Things we bought today, Washing machine...RM400


Kettle (rm 56) and rice cooker (rm 104).....


By 3pm, the TM point people came to install the phone line...which cost us RM 85..
then he said there will be another person coming later in the evening to install our internet.....i look at my watch, it's 5.15pm already, so i asked him again, you sure he will be coming later? then he said 'sure, coz they gave priority to us, and they are actually contract from telekom, not the telekom own workers..'
hmm... did i push them too much...?

Yeappie! Streamyx installed and ready to use at 7 pm! Cool!
And see, it's D-Link! wow! The person said previously when they used the other lousy brand, the customer complaint to them after 4 days....cause any problem, we will look for that person, not the telekom, that's why they requested for D-link router..

The left side is my bowl, with the picture of cock on it, and also the hello kitty cup.. please do not think i m the hello kitty fan, i bought it because it's d cheapest among all and its ceramic....


Bought another new slipper cause my old slipper is too rough and cause me 2 blisters, each on each foot...Mine is the blue one RM 2.30


TOday, my friend blocked the bathroom cause he washed all the dirt sediments down to the drain and blocked d drainage system until the water come out from the kitchen drain.... but was later repaired by the Faber ...

Now left one thing hasnt settle - our claims.....
will be starting our work on Monday in polyclinic first....
Maybe we'll go to the polyclinic to have a look tomorrow evening...
For the time being, there'll be 8 MOs including us
Chong, Voon, HO, Abu, Hisyam, Kiu, and both of us
Will have one call this month...damn....
Heard sometime it's very free, but sometime it's real busy.....
Every complicated cases or unsure cases, all refer to Sibu Specialists...
Some specialists are nice, especially the Paeds HOD, Dr. Wong... heard he even answer the calls and take the referral eventhough he was on leave...

The list A drugs here have to be approved by physician first before the pharmacist dispense the drug, so any patient need list A drug, we have to call up the physician..

Application for transfer can only be made after one year of service here, if not, they wont 'layan' your application..
